Dr. Jorge Abarca is a highly experienced Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Consultant, currently serving at King’s College Hospital in London, UK. With over two decades of global expertise, he has managed complex infections, led antimicrobial stewardship programs, and overseen infection control initiatives. He holds a medical degree from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and the University of Valencia, and completed advanced training in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the Complutense University in Madrid, Spain. Throughout his career, Dr. Abarca has held prominent roles, including Consultant and Head of the Infectious Diseases Department at SQCCCRC in Oman, where he significantly improved patient care outcomes. His clinical interests include sepsis, multidrug-resistant organisms, infections in immunocompromised patients, tuberculosis, and biofilm-related infections.
